Department/Team overview

As part of BNY Mellon Fund Accounting and Administration, the team Risk Controlling provides fund risk related analysis and reports to German clients including investment compliance, market and liquidity risk measurement and AIFMD reporting. The team of 5 people is located in Frankfurt, Germany. It closely interacts with other local Fund Accounting and Administration teams (Data Management, Fund Accounting and Reporting) in Frankfurt and Wroclaw.

A successful candidate would deliver enhancements for investment compliance or support AIFMD reporting in the Risk Controlling team taking the development opportunities in the other of the two topics. Development opportunities are also available in the full range of Risk Controlling and risk reporting services as well as related cross-departmental initiatives.

Your role:

  • Development and enhancement of methods and solutions for fund risk controlling and fund risk reporting in line with regulatory requirements and best industry practices in Germany
  • Design, implement and enhance rules for regulatory, contractual and internal investment compliance restrictions
  • AIFMD Reporting
  • Contribution and representation of the team in cross-departmental projects as well as BVI working groups (German fund industry association)
  • Implementation of process changes and process improvements
  • Contribute to the daily and monthly execution of fund risk controls, analysis, data validation and reports, especially for ex-post investment compliance checks, leverage calculation as well as limit checks for market and liquidity risk
  • Due diligence assessments for target investment funds, securitisations and structured products
  • Know Your Fund assessments
  • Advice to clients / asset managers for queries about fund risk controlling topics, fund risk reporting and / or AIFMD reporting
  • Point of contact for auditors for fund risk controlling topics, fund risk reporting and / or AIFMD reporting
  • Coordination of cross-departmental new instrument process

The successful candidate will demonstrate/possess:

  • Degree in Finance or Economy or other similar discipline.
  • Proven relevant work experience of 3-5 years within Risk Controlling/Investment Compliance in financial services and/or AIFMD Reporting.
  • Advanced skills in German language.
  • Fluent English spoken and written (min. B2 level).
  • Very good communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and knowledge of VBA are preferable.
