Role
- The Controller oversees the day to day activities of the finance team and ensures the finance function is organized and efficient and produces accurate financial and management accounts.
- You will be part of the Central Europe Finance Team, being responsible for the controlling and reporting activities of Gucci Germany entities (Retail and Outlet).
- Reporting to the Head of Finance Northern and Central Europe based in London, you will work closely with the Regional Finance Team based in Italy, the Financial Shared Service Centre team based in Paris and Berlin, the Hub Corporate teams based in Munich
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure all financial data is well documented within the department and all records are accurate and up to date
- Be in charge of the completion of the month end reporting activities and preparation of the month end reporting package for the regional finance team
- Prepare monthly profit and loss and perform the related variance analysis
- Review cashflow and perform the related variance analysis
- Prepare and communicate the monthly reporting to the retail managers and to the Hub Corporate teams based in Munich (such as Facilities, Security, HR, Marketing) to ensure costs control across the company
- Be in charge of the preparation and submission of Budgets and Forecasts
- Collect relevant information from the other corporate departments in order to submit Budget and Forecasts and provide specific analysis and explanation of most important variances
- Work closely with Kering Financial Shared Service Centre to ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting activities
- Review the company’s accounting information and ensure respect of German and Group standards; resolve inaccuracies or imbalances
- Be a key interlocutor during the annual external audit process and support in the preparation of Statutory Financial Statements
- Capex control and follow up
- Support during the legal analysis and review of real estate contracts
- Deal with ad-hoc queries on finance related matters and develop ad-hoc analysis for the business

- Ability to work effectively under pressure, highly organised and excellent time management and follow up skills
- Capability of managing high volumes of data and work in autonomy, hands-on approach
- Confident and self-motivated, with the ability to work in an ever changing and demanding environment
- Proactive and enthusiastic attitude with a result-oriented approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential as the role involves working closely with teams based remotely (in Florence, Berlin and Paris)
- Ability to work in partnership and manage the relationship with Financial Shared Service Centre accounting team
Knowledge and Experience
- Degree qualification in a relevant discipline and / or relevant accounting qualification
- At least 5 years relevant working experience in a financial control and management reporting role
- Experience of managing a small team
- Fluency in German and English
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and SAP
- Experience in the retail industry is a plus
