Call for Applications: Project/ Admin/ Accountant Specialist at the Civil Liberties Union for Europe

The Civil Liberties Union for Europe, a Berlin-based international human rights organization, is seeking an Accountant for a mini-job at its Berlin.

About the position

Liberties is seeking a highly talented and motivated candidate to be part of our Berlin-based core team in the capacity of Project and Admin Specialist. This role provides an opportunity to be responsible for project administration and financial and administrative work of the EU CERV project. Within the operative unit, you will be working closely with CERV Projects Manager and Operations Manager. You will execute financial and administrative work of the Executive Office, including financial planning/reporting, accounting and administrative documentation work for Liberties EU-funded project.

At the same time, the position is designed to support the implementation of our project under the EU CERV programme, the aim of which is strengthening civil society networks active in the areas of EU values. Under this scope of action, you will be responsible for the day-to-day HR time management, administrative, project, financial and regranting implementation of the contract, making sure that all network-related activities are being carried out in line with the envisaged budget, goals, and objectives.

Person specification:

Knowledge

· B.A. degree in economics, management, accounting or similar

· Knowledge and experience in budgeting and accounting, esp. EU rules and accountancy software (QuickBooks and Datev) will be considered a strong asset;

· Excellent knowledge of English and German

Experience

· 3 years of experience in project implementation and administrative work will be considered an advantage;

· Experience in non-profit sector, and project cycle, administration and finances in Germany is considered a strong asset

Skills

· Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with people from different backgrounds;

· Excellent organisational skills;

· Ability to work in a team and individually

What we offer:

· An initial 12-month contract based at Liberties’ Berlin office; starting date: 1th of February 2023.

· EUR 4200 gross;
