We are looking for several innovative and digital affine System Engineers to join the Cabin & Cargo System organisation.

We are accountable to provide solutions for sustainable and innovative Cabin & Cargo System products across all engineering and all aircraft programmes. We design and develop to market needs and we support the final product in service.
The positions are hosted in the Cabin & Cargo Engineering perimeter located in Hamburg & Bremen . The Cabin & Cargo area in the commercial aircrafts is of utmost strategic importance for the airlines. This is the part used and visible to the airline cabin crews and passengers, which offers differentiation possibilities and revenue opportunities through different kinds of services.
With the acceleration of digital technology, the trends in the aircraft cabin industry are strongly and rapidly evolving for offering wireless services, establishing Internet of Things as standard means to monitor and control via the next generation of cabin systems, supporting cabin crews and airlines in daily operations and providing connectivity inside the cabin and outside to the ground via satellite communication. Consequently Airbus has launched several strategic development projects in this area for the upcoming 5 to 7 years.
Model-Based System Engineering and Agile methodology will be the corner-stone of our ways of working. For these projects, we are looking for System Engineers bringing a strong specialisation and some significant experience in network technology /Wireless Network /Open software platform, focused on software Architecture.

You have the opportunity to work on Cabin and Cargo Systems development with a strong focus on digital enablers. You will have the autonomy to design and optimize aircraft systems on different projects and to collaborate with different project groups and stakeholders in an international and diverse setup. This gives you the great opportunity to learn and grow across many different cabin and cargo systems and to drive the development and application of digital design process solutions for Airbus.
We do have several opportunities/positions available in the following areas:
RF communication and Network/Connectivity
You will define Architecture definition of platforms, communication systems, backbones enabling new functionalities and services requested by Airbus aircraft programs and airline customers
You build the technical trades leading to best cost/performance choice for Airbus
You assess the impact of new features, software, hardware and architecture
Model-Based Systems Engineering
You evaluate, specify, validate, develop and implement systems and functions in the field of aircraft cabin and cargo systems following the V-model
You apply RBE (requirements based engineering) and MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering) processes and methods.
You support the definition of the functional and system specifications by using model based or requirement based methodology, leading to the expected performance and robustness in any condition of use
Cabin Power Engineering
You are involved in in-service issues resolution (e.g. consumer power disruptions, rejection of new cabin options due to power budget), and qualification deviations
You de-risk future technologies through R&T Proof of Concept to prepare future Airbus platforms.
You foster the development of innovative solutions in-line with Airbus needs, e.g. High current & High voltage components
Safety Systems
Perform systems engineer tasks related to cabin safety systems across aircraft programs with focus on cargo door actuation systems
Perform tasks within system development Airbus processes
Definition, specification and development of Cabin Safety Systems (e.g. A350F Cargo Door Actuation System)
System Software Design for Cabin Connectivity A350(F)
You create of the detailed system documentation related to the software after the Airbus development process
You drive cross-project cooperation and the definition of uniform SW solutions
You control of the system SW development, integration with the Airbus internal and external suppliers, partly with agile development methods
Who we are looking for a profile like you :
Education degree starting from up to 5 years in Digital Transformation & Sustainability, Software Engineering, System Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems & Technology, Communications Engineering or comparable
First experience in working with the relevant programming languages and IT-tools, e.g. C++, Matlab, IBM Rhapsody (SysML), Google Suite etc. and/or
A good knowledge in simulation and “state of the art” software architecture and/or
A basic knowledge of cellular (e.g. 4G, 5G) and wireless / IoT communication technology (e.g. WiFi 5, WiFi 6(E)) as well as general knowledge of legacy wired protocols and/or
Knowledge of the following technical disciplines: mobile telecommunications technologies, WiFi technologies, IoT and/or avionics systems, virtualization solutions and IT protocols and/or
IoT MGC Architecture implementation experience (Embedded devices-> Gateways->Cloud) and/or
Model Based System Engineering knowledge and first experience (SysML) and/or
Experienced in digitization methods and tools, digital automation, data analytics, MBSE, machine learning would be an advantage and/or
Any knowledge of LEAN/AGILE methods is an advantage
Excellent communication/presentation skills and team player with a strong customer focus
Strong interest in continuously learning and driving new technologies & products
Language Skills: negotiation level of English; other languages are appreciated
Ready to travel partly and to work in an international environment
