We are looking for a working student for the Applied Machine Learning (AML) group, within the Artificial Intelligence department. In the AML working group, new innovative solutions are researched and developed, which are used in current projects.

What you will do


  • Support for the implementation of software within the project "AI-based information platform for the localization and simulation of heat islands for innovative urban and transport planning" (KLIPS)
  • In the KLIPS project, AI-based methods are researched and developed to detect and forecast heat islands in cities

What you bring to the table


  • Full-time student at a German university, preferably from the field of computer science, mathematics or a related subject with excellent performance
  • Excellent knowledge of mathematics and computer science, very good programming skills in Python and very good usability of neural network frameworks (like PyTorch)
  • Deep theoretical understanding of machine learning (ML) as well as deep neural networks
  • Basic knowledge of SQL databases
  • Independent and structured way of working, also within a team

The monthly working time is 60 to 80 hours. The position is initially limited to 6 months.
