We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager (M/f/D). This is a permanent full-time position based in Neu-Isenburg, Germany.
In the Software Engineering team, you will engage with stakeholders from a wide variety of backgrounds across the entire Enterprise, including Executive and Senior Leadership, Engineering technical experts as well as pilots. You will be responsible for effective identification of user requirements, securing the required resources for development, on-time delivery of the required solutions and strategic development of the team’s capabilities and stakeholder relationships.
The successful Manager, Software Engineering has a passion for delivering solutions that address real-world user needs and help the company to move into new markets and technologies with safety and efficiency. She/he will assemble, lead and mentor a diverse team of up to 10 highly motivated engineering staff of diverse skill sets and backgrounds. This position reports into the Senior Manager, User-centered Software in Germany.
Position Responsibilities:
As the team manager you will lead and empower the team performing a wide variety of dynamic and challenging work, including:
- Applying and refining appropriate processes to work with users and other internal and external stakeholders to identify user needs for ground-based support tools and vehicle-based software solutions.
- Establishing and managing design requirements for changes, enhancements and new software features.
- Ensuring application of all applicable internal and external guidance and regulations as well as leading cross-functional reviews of the developed solutions to ensure quality and on-time delivery of the developed solutions.
- Establishing and continuously refining development processes and tools to improve velocity and quality.
- Deploying appropriate Enterprise tools, computing and software technologies to meet the established goals.
Manager responsibilities include:
- Defining goals for the team based on customer requirements.
- Resource planning, tracking of progress to plan, issue resolution.
- Technical guidance and decision support, levering an Enterprise network of experts.
- Development of the team and the available development infrastructure based on enterprise needs.
- Integration of the local team into an International organization as well as organizing the effective collaboration with off-site development teams.
- Development and shaping of contracting relationships for various product components.

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of applicable experience in industry or academia.
- Ability to read, speak and write English fluently.
- Experience in leading small to medium-sized teams.
- Experience in leading Agile Scrum teams.
- MSc in Computer Science or relevant Engineering discipline with software development experience.
Preferred Qualification
- 2+ years of people management.
- Track record of applying software expertise in aviation or aerospace environment.
- Knowledge of German language will be an asset.
- Knowledge of regulations applicable to software development for aerospace applications.
The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work in a hybrid mode as per the company’s regulations.
Work Authorization:
This requisition is for a locally hired position in Germany. Candidates must have current legal authorization to work immediately in Germany.
