Our operations network, known for our speed, accuracy, and exceptional service, delivers millions of packages and smiles to Amazon customers every day. To keep our operations network secure and assure operational continuity, we are looking for an experienced professional who wants to join our Field Solutions Implementation and Support (FSIS) team as Senior Manager. In this key role, you will manage a multi-disciplined security team of technical and non-technical experts who manage end-to-end physical security in Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA).
Key job responsibilities
• Manage a multi-disciplined security team of technical and non-technical experts who manage end-to-end physical security in EMEA
• Provide strategic vision for physical security in EMEA aligned with customer needs, changing security landscape, and organizational goals
• Own the development and implementation of cost effective and innovative physical security solutions in compliance with Amazon standards and guidelines to mitigate specific threats as well as prioritized and relevant risks
• Improve and develop physical security maintenance and sustainability program aligned with organizational goals
• Ensure FSIS support to achieve yearly EMEA Security and Loss Prevention departmental goals
A day in the life
As the Senior Manager of the FSIS team, you are responsible for a team of technical and non-technical experts who design, implement, and maintain physical security systems, means, and equipment that are risk-based, cost effective, and operationally acceptable to enable the prevention, intervention, and investigation of security incidents, minimize losses, and mitigate risks to support the Security and Loss Prevention teams within operational sites. You will cooperate with various senior support function managers to define targets and priorities geared towards developing and implementing cost effective means and equipment solutions. You will also lead the program and project management direction to effectively develop, design, implement, and maintain all physical security initiatives, provide expertise for physical security technology, process development, and deployment to support mitigation of shrinkage as well as loss and effective incident investigations.
As the head of the FSIS team, your work is both strategic and tactical: you develop strategic goals and roadmaps, drive strategic physical security initiatives impacting the entire EMEA Security and Loss Prevention team, but you also manage the daily workload of your team and will be accountable for your team’s performance. Thus, you ensure that the team can effectively deploy resources to deliver projects and programs. You risk assess and prioritize incoming workload to ensure delivery meets service level agreements with internal customers and avoid adverse impact to the business. You will use your knowledge and expertise to coach as well as manage your team and to remove blockers preventing them from achieving their goals and objectives. You manage the planning of recruiting as well as frugal deployment of resources. Finally, you will engage senior management from across EMEA to build a culture of security awareness, ensure a positive working relationship, and understand opportunities to support.
About the team
Working in partnership with our stakeholders, Security and Loss Prevention secures the Amazon supply chain end-to-end and promotes security during business conversations. Sitting within Security and Loss Prevention, the FSIS team does this by managing physical security maintenance activities and installing compliant security systems in most business units across EMEA. This is achieved by providing equipment and installation costs, sourcing external business partners to install security systems, ensuring installers follow agreed methodology and guidelines for system installation and commissioning, and reviewing ad-hoc installation requests across the network to ensure business agreed purpose is met. We deliver projects and initiatives to improve, standardize, and create end-user and sustainable security designs that comply with local legislation and Amazon standards. We also improve the current EMEA security infrastructure to optimize Security and Loss Prevention performance and support business initiatives. Finally, we strive for a consistent and scalable approach to continuously support the fast-changing business environment and mitigate risks to Amazon.
