(Senior) Inhouse Legal Counsel - Open Source Software Compliance (M/F/D)

YOUR TEAM

As our in-house Legal Counsel you will be comprehensively responsible for legal matters. In all of these activities you will be working closely together with a growing and agile team of highly talented colleagues, in particular the other in-house counsels and paralegals of the company and its international affiliates.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Structuring and implementing legal processes and assist in setting up a highly automated open source software compliance management system in close alignment with other relevant departments
• Provision of legal advice on open source software license requirements and copyright law aspects to software developers
• Assist in setting up legal tech tooling to improve automation, speed, accuracy and reliability of legal reviews in particular in the field of open source software compliance
• Assist open source contributions and coordinate with open source foundations and industry groups
• Legal support in projects with hight strategic relevance including cooperations and license agreements

WHO YOU ARE

• Fully qualified lawyer (second state exam in law)
• This vacancy can either be scoped for an entry (no job experience) or mid-senior-level, guidance and on the job training will be provided as required
• Interest in technology / willingness to discuss technical matters with software programmers
• Previous experience in open source software or legal matters relating to copyright law is a plus (but not a requirement)
• Strong German and English speaking skills (on a business/legal level)
• Strong communication and networking skills
• Lots of enthusiasm for solving challenging problems and promoting open source software in a young new organization
