We as “Central Services” Team are positioned within RWE Supply & Trading GmbH (RWEST) IT with our team members located across Essen (Germany) and Swindon (UK).
We are heading towards DevOps transformation journey with forming different SQUADS within the team. As a central team our areas ensures different applications support, analysing systems, researches problems, maintenance, coordination, cloud native and development of Inhouse and external application tools in energy market. We offer our support to direct Business users and Traders to ensure smooth running of energy trading systems.

• Playing a coordinating role in change, incident, problem, knowledge, transition, release and deployment management activities
• Presenting new solutions before TCAB and SIM (Service Implementation gateway checks)
• Supporting global maintenances, creating run books, executing maintenance and coordinatiing tasks
• Supporting the project manager and taking over ownership of all infrastructure related task in a bigger project (creating AID and support model, request Infrastructure, applying SLA requirements, planing these efforts, presenting before TAF)
• IT Service Continuity Management (creating or supporting Business on disaster recovery descriptions), ensuring Service Continuity for critical services
• IT Security Management and Capacity Management
• DevOps and Cloud: Automating the building, testing and deployment of different components with Azure DevOps pipelines and migrations
• Involvment in migration of legacy application to Cloud based projects (AWS), multi-account setup etc.
• Ensuring to setup ADO dashboards for teams, Jfrog artifactory, PowerBI tools etc.
• Communicating management towards business stakeholders
• Guiding, consulting and advising of other Service Engineers

Your powerful skills

• Interest in gaining IT DevOps best practises and in IT trending topics
• Development and refinement of relevant SOPs (end-to-end IT Service Management process)
• Basic experience in creating runbooks, coordination and maintenance
• Profound understanding of infrastructure designs (AWS, Oracle and SQL databases, virtualised infrastructure, SAN)
• Experience in working with any Cloud Native technologies (Preferable skills in Cloud security and Cloud network topics)
• Fundamental experiences in CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps Server, GitLab or similar)
• Version Control: GIT, Bitbucket and deployment tools: YAML pipelines, Jenkins or similar
• Good understanding of ITIL processes
• Ability to work well under pressure and strong communication, very high motivation to learn and grow
• Good experience in customer support, requirements analysis and runbook maintenance

Advantageous, but not a must

• Cloud Native environment around Azure, data factory, Multiaccount setup, Ec2 instances, Kubernetes, Containerization, docker, S3 buckets etc.
• Profound scripting skills (e.g. in Shell, Python, Bash, Shell, Groovy or JSON)
• Any monitoring tools e.g. Kibana(Elastic) or areas around sonarcube, JFrog etc. is a plus
• Broad understanding of technologies (infrastructure and software) in use at RWEST
