We are looking for a PhD candidate to join our IT Platforms Department (TEMCI3) in Munich / ottobrunn.
As a successful candidate you will join for 3 year the End-to-End Communications engineering organization.
The end-to-end organization engineering is responsible to design deliver and develop high secure connectivity systems.
In that frame we are looking for a candidate with enthusiastic, creative, excellent technical skills and proof record in the area of quantum-secure communications design and simulation.
Mentorship is handled by both professors and dedicated Airbus employees.

Location: München areaYour tasks and responsibilities

• The objective of the PhD position is to define post-quantum enhanced solutions able to secure aerospace environments.
• These use cases are characterized by challenging dynamic and constrained communication profiles, high requirements for reliability and security.
• The work will include the design and evaluation of new post-quantum enhanced protocols, formal security evaluation, development of HW and SW secure implementations able to fit different design goals (e.g., performance, memory footprint and power) and the analysis, deployment and test of post-quantum enhanced systems.

Desired skills and qualifications

• You are educated to a Master’s Degree /Scientific university degree (master) or comparable degree
• Electrical engineering, Space Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science or similar
• You have experience in Development & Programming,
• You have a good knowledge in Cryptographic, Post-quantum cryptography
• You have experience on secure implementations, in data exploration and interpretation,
• You have worked with at least one programming language (e.g., Python), Embedded software programming skills
• You have a good experience with complex software environments and development frameworks, Hardware design knowhow
• You have good interpersonal and very good verbal and written communication skills
• You have a Proactive mind-set and the ability to work autonomously
• You have good communication skills in German and English
• If you have experience in the following areas is seen as a strong asset:
  • Quantum-secure communications
  • Protocols and networks
  • Background in descriptive and inferential statistics
