Responsibilities and Tasks
- Provide leadership to a team of approximately 150 production associates via a strong servant leadership mentality
- Ensure production flows smoothly through the manufacturing plant
- Coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production goals are met
- Identify and drive cost savings activities
- Install, Train and Support Lean Programs (Visual Daily Management, Gemba Walks, 6S, Total Preventative Maintenance, Standard Work, etc.)
- Coach, mentor and develop operations team
- Manage staffing and succession planning across all production departments
- Prepare the daily work plans in support of overall program objectives
- Provide and support training and educational activities
- Manage resolution of complex technical issues within production area and drive quality improvement plans
- Report and manage daily, weekly, monthly output while working to eliminate any constraints that prevent the team from meeting targets
- Develops and supports the lean transformation of the plant
The position holder will report to the Plant Manager and will be responsible for:
Background and Capability Demand
- Technical Degree, preferably in engineering (mechanical, industrial, electrical, manufacturing, etc.)
- 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience
- Experience with metal machining (turning, drilling, broaching, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all audiences including senior leadership
- Strong command of both German and English languages
- Strong ability to manage priorities of self and team
- Strong skills in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Knowledge and experience with best practices related to Safety, Quality and Productivity
- Strong experience with Lean Tools and Change Management (Green Belt or Black Belt in Six Sigma strongly preferred)
- Experience with 80/20 business simplification preferred
