YOUR ROLE

AEC is a global mobility solutions provider committed to finding better ways. Based in our office in Munich we are looking for Director Legal (Legal Counsel) to join our international team.

Reporting to our leadership team this role is responsible for legal advice and coordination of local country lawyers to the demanding and quickly developing international business. The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator with broad background in corporate, finance and commercial law topics, who will help shape our business in projects around our international expansion, working with the different business areas in a collaborative and cross-functional setup to achieve business goals and support the company mission.

Duties & Responsibilities


  • Assess and mitigate legal risks and regulatory impact of business challenges and initiatives
  • Provide accurate, relevant, and timely advice to the business on a variety of legal topics, that relate to our sector, products, and services. The business matters may range from day-to day corporate matters to complex business transactions in an international environment. Delegate specialty areas to law firms we already collaborate with and coordinate their activities.
  • Support the team by having a legal view of our activities and alert and help avoid any risks the business may not naturally see.
  • Contribute to our international expansion from a legal perspective by supporting the business in the development and execution of long-term strategies and provide legal advice to our product, marketing, and operations teams.
  • Review, draft, and/or negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to protect the company’s legal rights or manage the process thereof.
  • Ensure and track compliance with national and international regulations including data protection, tax filing requirements and financial services regulation.
  • Stay current with changes to legislation relating to laws, rules and regulations that directly affect our business and industry.
  • Legal project management and coordination with lawyers in relation to employment, financial regulations, corporate restructuring across multiple jurisdictions, etc.

YOUR PROFILE

Education & Experience


  • Qualified German lawyer with 7 years of relevant and practical international experience
  • It will be considered a plus if the candidate has specialization or significant experience in any of the following areas: corporate law, commercial law, employment law, M&A, regulatory and government affairs, anti-trust law, licensing and agreements or real estate law.
  • Skilled relationship builder with willingness and ability to work together with different management levels and functions across the entire business
  • Language skills: Fluent English and German; additional languages also an advantage.
  • Self-starter: being able to work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong business focus with the ability to partner with management to achieve growth and profitability goals while mitigating risks.
  • Enthusiastic about analyzing and solving problem. Energized by working on multinational matters and together with a highly motivated international team.
  • Some travel required from time to time
