Job Intro

As the Business Development Manager for Identity/Digital Product Passports (DPP) at the IOTA Foundation, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our influence in the decentralized identity and DPP space. Your responsibilities will include market analysis, strategic partnerships, and developing business strategies to drive the adoption of IOTA's identity solutions. As this is a very active and evolving domain, the job also includes working with leads and potential clients in a co-development/co-innovation manner to actively refine and shape IOTA’s offerings in this sector. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the evolution of decentralized identity technology and shape its real-world applications.

Responsibilities & Requirements

1. Market Analysis and Opportunity Identification:
   1. Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities in the decentralized identity and digital product passport space.
   2. Analyze industry dynamics, regulatory landscapes, and competitive environments to inform strategic decision-making.
2. Strategic Partnership Development:
   1. Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with key players in the identity management and digital product passport ecosystem.
   2. Collaborate with partners to enhance and customize IOTA's solutions for broader industry applications.
3. Client Engagement and Solution Customization:
   1. Engage with potential clients to understand their unique identity management and product passport needs.
   2. Collaborate with client and internal technical teams and product management to tailor IOTA's solutions to meet the specific requirements of diverse industries.
4. Business Strategy and Go-to-Market Planning:
   1. Develop and execute business strategies to drive the adoption of IOTA's identity and digital product passport solutions.
   2. Create go-to-market plans, ensuring effective communication of the value proposition to target audiences.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
   1. Work closely with technical teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of IOTA's identity solutions into client’s overall IT landscape.
   2. Cooperate with product management and the IOTA board on refining and defining IOTA’s product and partner strategy based on strategic insight and outside-in client requirements.
   3. Collaborate with marketing and communication teams to create compelling materials and campaigns.
6. Thought Leadership and Industry Engagement:
   1. Establish thought leadership by representing the IOTA Foundation at industry events, conferences, and contributing to relevant publications.
   2. Stay updated on advancements in decentralized identity and digital product passport technologies.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
• Proven experience in Business Development or strategic sales with a focus on identity management, digital product passport, and related technologies and solutions.
• Deep understanding of decentralized identity and (trust-)related concepts (e.g., VCs, VPs) and their applications.
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English are a must
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with IOTA's technology and the broader blockchain/DLT ecosystem.
• Background in ecosystem building, participation, or governance
• Experience in collaborating with open-source projects and communities.
• Knowledge of legal and compliance considerations in the decentralized identity space.
• German, Arabic, or an additional European language
