EMBL Enterprise Management Technology Transfer GmbH (EMBLEM) is an affiliate and the commercial arm of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL). EMBLEM identifies, protects and commercialises the intellectual property developed in the EMBL-world, from EMBL-alumni and from nonEMBL third parties. - preparing communication materials for the company’s on-line presence and business databases;
- developing new and maintaining existing relationships with commercial customers;
- organising meetings and events;
- negotiating and executing commercial agreements;
- performing market research and value assessment;
- scouting for new inventions and technologies;
- advising on IP regulations in academic and grant agreements.
You should have a degree either in medicine or the life sciences (BSc/Diplom or PhD level), coupled with experience in business development, marketing and contract negotiation in a relevant industry (Biotech/Pharma), or in technology transfer in the academic sector and have demonstrated effective administrative and organisational skills. An appreciation and understanding of molecular biology/biotech/medical instrumentation is an asset for this post.
You should be a team player, an excellent oral and written communicator, flexible, diligent and open to new challenges and enjoy dealing with business professionals and scientists within our multinational organisation.
You are pro-active, well organised and used to working in a dedicated and solution-oriented manner, have an eye for detail, and enjoy creative work. Fluency in English and German is mandatory for this position, experience working in an international setting is an advantage.
